A committee of five members will evaluate the nominations and make selections. The award (a memento and a certificate) will be presented during the inaugural annual conference scheduled on 12 July 2025 at Blind People’s Association, Ahmedabad.
Young Achiever Award (#1)
This award aims to recognise young persons (in the age group of 20-35) who have had special accomplishments in the field of eye care. It is understood that young achievers are not born with everything magical, it is the result of their effort, ideas, and faith that makes them successful. It is this background; the award looks to identify leaders of tomorrow today and pave a pathway to improve their leadership abilities to be able to contribute to the well-being and enhanced quality of life of patients.
Women Lead Eye Care (#1)
The award aims to recognize women based on their influence, excellence, contribution as well as their commitment, in the field of eye care, especially the community ophthalmology. These are the women whose hard work already makes it clear that they are on the path to making big waves in the future as they seek out mentors, push forward new development strategies and demonstrate boldness and creativity in their professional endeavours. VISION 2020 India looks to promote the surfacing of this emerging/have already emerged level of luminaries in eye care and wishes to celebrate such outstanding leadership and achievements demonstrated by Women leaders.
Eye Health Champions - Multiple (from each zone)
This award aims to recognise and celebrate young and upcoming frontline staff, volunteers, support staff and more within the eye health sector. Eye Health Champions work with passion, purpose and determination to improve peoples’ lives all over, and they are the change-makers, innovators and emerging leaders from across all areas and backgrounds in eye health. Nominee’s age should be under the age of 40 at the point of nomination.
