Diabetes is rising at an alarming rate in India, with projections of 123 million cases by 2040 (Times of India). Among its most severe complications is Diabetic Retinopathy (DR)—a leading cause of preventable blindness in working-age adults. Yet, as per the NPCB&VI National Survey, only 10% of people with diabetes in India have undergone a retina examination.
