Huge applause to the Netra Kumbh initiative by Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji. The initiative restored vision and brought light to so many lives. A truly inspiring effort. VISION 2020 INDIA Members institutions proudly contributed took part in this initiative and screened thousands of pilgrims, provided required eye glasses and referred for further care. Our country is going to celebrate the Maha Kumbh Mela in
2025, a significant religious and cultural festival alongside Triveni Sangam ( at the confluence of the
sacred rivers the Ganga, the Yamuna, and the Saraswat). This grand event draws millions, approximately
400 million visitors are expected this time in 2025.
The Netra Kumbh initiative during 2019 successfully treated around 202,020 eye patients, distributed
1,55,210 pairs of spectacles. Thanks to voluntary contributions from eye surgeons across India. For
2025, the goal is to screen over 5,00,000 pilgrims and provide around 3,00,000 spectacles.
