The VISION 2020 – INDIA is governed by a Board. The board broadly oversees the implementation of the five year strategic plan – the key document to achieve the VISION 2020 – INDIA’s goals.
Board Composition
The Executive Committee | 6 Zonal Representatives | Other members representing the INGOs, Centres of Excellence, Corporate. The Joint Secretary, NPCB, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, government of India is an advisor on our board.
Duration of the board
The duration of the board is for three years. The executive committee and the zonal representatives are elected every three years in democratically held elections. Founder members have permanent representation and usually headed by the Head of the Organization.. Only the institutional members of VISION 2020 – INDIA can contest elections and have the right to vote.
Role and governance
Matters pertaining to the implementation of the five year strategic plan is governed by the board.
The executive committee meets regularly to discuss and decide certain aspects of strategic plan. The entire board meets every quarter.
The meetings are held in conjunction with important events: in February with the AIOS; in June along with the annual conference; in October combining it with the World Sight Day and one meeting is held in Delhi to facilitate for the Joint Secretary to attend.
