Guidelines for Poster presentation

Dimension of the poster

The size of the poster should be: 5 ft x 3 ft (Portrait)

3ft horizontal and 5ft vertical

The title should be the same as the title submitted with the abstract and appear in boldface at the top.

Posters should stimulate discussion, not give a long presentation. Therefore, keep text to a minimum, emphasize graphics, and make sure every item in your poster is necessary.

Computers: You may not use a computer as part of your display or videos.

  • Poster body text must be readable from 2 meters (with possible exception of references) and the title from 4-5 meters

Avoid capital letters except at the beginning of sentences and proper nouns

Use a black sans serif font like Verdana etc

Use a bolder, larger typeface for the main titles and headings. It can be effective to use a different typeface for headings and subheadings

To emphasize body text, use a bold or italic font

  • Each poster must include text in a large enough font (~20 point font) to be read easily by attendees from a distance of 4 to 5 feet or more. Lettering on illustrations should be large and legible. Photographs should be a minimum of 5 x 7 inches. Material should be displayed in logical sequence (introduction, objectives, methodology, findings, conclusion) and each sheet should be numbered.
  • Should not exceed 300 words excluding title and authors names
